Answers to the most frequently
asked questions about leagues. . .
Question: I don't have free time?
Answer: We understand that completely. We can all use one more day each week. Perhaps, being so busy is the best reason to take a break, relax, and have some fun bowling! We have plenty of alternative days and times.
Question: I am not good enough to join a league?
Answer: Yes, you are. We have leagues for beginners and more experienced bowlers. We also offer bowling lessons by a certified bowling coach! The automatic scorers keep the scores for you. Also, most teams look for a lower average bowler to add handicap to their team.
Question: How much does league bowling cost?
Answer: League bowling ranges in price from $ 8.25 to $15 per league depending upon the type of league and time of bowling. This includes three games of bowling, the league's costs, and the prize fund.
Question: I can't afford it?
Answer: We understand completely. We all have to watch where we spend our money today. However, when you consider all the benefits you'll get from one of our bowling programs, it's really quite affordable. And, don't you owe yourself and your family a little fun and excitement once in awhile? Besides we keep the costs of our leagues down, and very affordable.
Question: I just moved here and I don't know anyone. Can I still bowl if I don't have a team?
Answer: Of Course! Bowling in a league is a great way to meet new people. Sign up as an individual or couple and we will be happy to place you on a team.
Question: Why should I bowl in a league?
Answer: The reasons are many and include meeting new people, it's fun, it's friendly competition, bowling is a low impact exercise, you will improve your bowling skills, a great way to get out of the house/office, it is not weather dependent, and your whole family can participate first hand...Why shouldn't you join?
Question: Are there any other benefits?
Answer: Yes. As a league bowler at Milton Bowling Center, you receive 2 free bowling games every week, one per day!
Question: There are a lot of people at work who want to bowl. Can we start our own league?
Answer: Definitely, and we can help. We can provide a sign up sheet, flyers and even set up a free bowling party for your company to help determine interest in a league! Please call Sheldon at 893-6116 for more information.
Question: Do I need my own equipment?
Answer: No. We rent shoes at a nominal charge and bowling balls are available for use at no charge.
Question: How often will my league bowl?
Answer: Almost all leagues bowl at the same time each week.
Question: That's too much commitment?
Answer: Most people feel that way nowadays. However, the advantage to joining a league is that you can begin to make fun and excitement a regular part of your weekly routine. And it only last about 2 and a half hours. Plus most of our leagues for beginners are short term.
Question: What is the Prize fund?
Answer: Most leagues have a prize fund that pays their bowler's at the end of the season depending upon the number of games each team wins! And, of course you'll be bowling for other ABC and/or WIBC league awards.
Question: How do I get an Average?
Answer: Your average and your handicap is established the first time you bowl. You do not need an established average to join a league.
Question: What is Handicap?
Answer: Handicap is the pins which are added to your score to help you complete with others. Of course, as your bowling skills improve and your average increases, you receive less handicap.
Question: I'd love to bowl, but I can't find a baby sitter.
Answer: No problem! We provide free baby sitting for our league bowlers during selected leagues for their potty trained children ages 2 to 10.
